Bridal Frequently Asked Questions

Are you insured?

Yes! I am fully qualified in hair and makeup and insured appropriately. Some venues require proof of insurance so this can be provided upon venues request. I also PAT test all of my equipment and uphold high levels of hygiene and sanitation for myself and my kit.

Can you cater for a large bridal party?

Yes! If help is needed on a wedding morning to get everyone ready in the allotted time, I have other hairstylists / MUAs that I often work alongside. They are all fully qualified and insured and have a similar style to my work.

How far will you travel for weddings?

I am based in Kent but will travel to wherever your wedding is located! Travel charges apply to all distances and if an overnight stay is necessary this will be discussed and included in the costs. See Terms and Conditions for full breakdown of travel charges.

Are lashes included in the quote?

Yes. Strip and individual lashes are included in trial and on-day quotes.

Where do trials take place?

Trials take place at the Hair by Hare salon located in Mereworth, Kent.

How long does a trial take?

Allow 1.5 - 2 hours for hair / makeup.
Allow 3 hours for hair and makeup.

Can I have a trial before booking my wedding date?

This is not recommended as wedding dates are only secured by a deposit so advised to be booked in before a trial. I advise you to do your research into my work before booking my services to ensure you like my style of work and are confident I am a good fit for your vision. However, you are absolutely welcome to visit the salon for any service before completing the bridal enquiry if you want to get to know me and get a taster of my skillset.

Can I bring my friends and family to my trial?

The salon is small so there is only one waiting chair if someone wishes to accompany you. It is always good to get the opinions from the ones who know you the most so lots of pictures will be taken throughout your trial for you to show your friends and family.

What happens at a trial?

Your trial is the time for us to get to know each other and for me to understand your vision for the day. It is also the perfect opportunity for me to get to know your hair and how it behaves and your skin and eye shape for makeup.
We will discuss your initial ideas for hair and makeup and what is achievable, your colour theme, dress silhouette / colour, likes and dislikes for hair / makeup. We can then trial 2 - 3 different styles and find something that suits you and your vision.

Do I need to bring anything with me to my trial?

If you already have the accessories or veil you plan to wear on the day then please bring along so you can see the full look. If you're not sure on what accessory to have then don't worry, we will discuss this at your trial. It is good to wear a similar colour and neckline to what you'll be wearing at the wedding.

Will I look exactly like my trial on my wedding day?

After trying out some different styles at your trial, hair may be frizzy and makeup may be irritated so the look may not be at its full potential to what it will be on the day. Though every effort is taken to replicate your chosen look, due to the nature of hair and human application of makeup, there may be slight differences. Rest assured, I will ensure you are satisfied with the final look on your wedding day and will be with you up until the moment you leave for any final touches!

Does my bridal party need trials?

Trials are not always necessary for your bridal party but they are absolutely welcome to have one if they prefer! If no trial is carried out, I will request hair / makeup inspiration images for all your bridal party members prior to the wedding day. This aids greatly in my preparation.

What if I am not satisfied with my trial?

In the event you are not satisfied with how the trial developed after the allotted time, you are welcome to come back for another trial (you will be charged for each separate trial). If you decide you do not wish to go ahead with the wedding booking, all payments made thus far are non-refundable. Please see Terms and Conditions for cancellation policy.  I advise you to do your research into my work before booking my services to ensure you like my style of work and are confident I am a good fit for your vision.
